The Saturn is the ultimate highball pad designed for serious boulderers and has many new features for 2010! It uses the highest quality closed-cell (high density) and open-cell foams layered four-and-a-half inches thick, wrapped in ultra-hardwearing ballistic nylon fabric. The new pads now feature three independent layers of foam enclosed in plastic sheeting to improve longevity.

The separate sheets include one and a half-inches of closed cell (in two sheets), plus three inches of medium density open cell foams. This arrangement allows the pad to fold more easily with less stretching or crushing of the foam, making it longer-lasting, easier to open, but just as good at saving your bones.

All MOON pads feature our innovative “reverse fold” system, folding taco style to provide a surface with no creases. In the “reverse fold,” the up-side with the firm foam also has the carry straps, so when you shoulder your MOON pad after using it over muddy ground, the lower (dirty) surface of the pad folds in, saving your clothes, your car seats, or your mother’s carpet, from that dirt you’ve been throwing it into all day long.

On the landing surface, a sturdy flap, which doubles as a foot wipe, covers the shoulder straps. The same flap turns back down and around, exposing the straps while wrapping the lower end of the pad to secure your gear in carry mode.

The Saturn's 62 x 48 x 4.5 inches are an amazingly light 15.5 pounds.
